Welcome to this historical edition of the “Angelique Shofar Live!” Podcast. It is with honor that I am alive and a part of history. As well I am grateful for the little role that I may play as a history maker. This podcast brings a personal portion of the hearts and minds of women and men on November 5, 2008 - the day after Senator Barack Obama was elected as the first official Black African American President in the history of America. But wait, this is only the marking of the beginning of a new era.

And as we enter move into this new era, it helps to take a look at the past in order to understand the future as it unfolds. The last time the world experienced massive and profound shift in leadership was during the era of the Industrial Revolution. From November 1762 until December 1, 1778, the small but powerfully transforming planet Pluto made it’s transit through the sphere of the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of leadership, discipline, structures, time, business as well as restrictions, limitations and boundaries. And as my African American Astrology teacher professes, Pluto is the planet that symbolizes “Black” people. So it is truly our time.!! In Capricorn, Pluto seeks to contract and solidify and build solid structures for society. In the process, the structures that already exist are broken down and irrevocably transformed. It is important that we know this and play an active and conscious role.

Now, this podcast is not about astrology but as an enthusiast of this art and science, it is only natural that I bring up it’s element and reveal the rhythm and cycles of life in addition to the inherent powers they contain and reveal. In order to know who we are and to understand where we are going, we must visit the PAST.

Pluto was last in Capricorn from November 1762 until December 1, 1778. Pluto deals with transformation of the political and economic realities of our world, and its entry into Capricorn marked a time line specific to African Americans as some are shared below.

Here are a few:

1704—French colonist Elias Neau opens a school for enslaved African Americans in New York City.

1708—Africans in South Carolina outnumber Europeans, making it the first English colony with a black majority.

1712—The New York City slave revolt begins on April 6. Nine whites are killed and an unknown number of blacks die in the uprising. Colonial authorities execute 21 slaves and six commit suicide.

1727—Enslaved Africans and Native Americans revolt in Middlesex and Gloucester Counties in Virginia.

1733—Spain promises freedom in Spanish Florida to slaves who escape from the English colonies.

1737—An indentured black servant petitions a Massachusetts Court and wins his freedom after the death of his master.

1739 - The first major South Carolina slave revolt takes place in Stono on Sept. 9th. A score of whites and more than twice as many black slaves are killed as the armed slaves try to flee to Florida.

These are just a few, so expect great CHANGE!!

In this podcast, I raise the voices of a few. Their reactions and sentiments are theirs to remember and it is with honor that I am able to use the power of technology to share them along with a slice of my own thoughts and provide them all as keepsakes.

Sex-loving women are associated with put down words like whore, prostitute, slut, bad girl, nymphomaniac, sex-addict, etc. A woman can not enjoy and love sex immensely without some negative association. Women on Top is calling the daring, bold, proactive, and sensually outspoken. This is a call to all the wonderful, warm, capable, free, grounded women that are enjoying a full range of sexual encounters and experiences. You redefine sex and sexuality. Women on Top loves and respects you and would like to memorialize you.

The Women on Top erotic project is collecting and gathering the positive and uplifting, culturally enticing, sexual stories and experiences of women of color from the far ends of the globe. It will provide a new base for women to see sex in a new and positive light. It aims to bring a sexual revolution that will penetrate and shatter the unfounded myths and narrow beliefs around sex and allow women to go on with the business of living sexually authentic.

It is not about women sleeping around or compromising their bodies. This project is above and beyond that level of consciousness. It is about women whose love for sex and sexual experiences have expanded their universe and brought harmony into their body, their relationships and their lives. It is about women who are freely and openly enjoying sex - safely and healthily without guilt or shame. It is about bold and courageous women sharing their positive and uplifting stories in hope that it may help another woman change hers.
